Button Bear, Walking

.
Button Bear

This may be in my top five favorite things I ever made. He's covered with buttons I've inherited from my mom and my two grandmoms - I have many more but I never knew what to do with such large numbers of them until I saw one in a store like this - now I get to look at them all the time. My favorite thing about him is his weight. It feels like something in your hand.

Do you not totally love the way it looks like he's walking? You do, right?

What should I name him?

Why, Teddy, of course.

Or perhaps, Taylor (as in, tailor), but actually Button Bear is pretty good as is (and the bear itself is a thing of beauty).

Of course my first suggestion was in self-serving jest.

Yes. Button Bear is not bad. That might be a winner, Bets.

Of course there's always:

Q. Taz Buttons. (or not...)

Thanks, Billy!

Q. Taz... that took me a minute.

Pearl

I think that's a winner...
maybe Pearl Simon. But then I'd have to sew a Dart Garfunkel.

Button Bear has such a simple, straight forward feel to it....

"Cool Bear. What's its name?"

"Button Bear"

"Makes sense....."

If you absolutely, positively need a formal name (for RSVPs, name tags, airport paging, lunch reservations with Paddington, etc), I would go with Hutton Ware, the Button Bear. Dignified, but not too stuffy (not much stuffing?)

/loves that there is a lot of Muscatine in the bear.....

Thanks for everyone's suggestions!
Matt - I know, the Muscatine/Mt. Pleasant/family history makes it special - I wish I knew exactly which buttons came from which elder but oh well... I love them all.

How about "FOR THE LOVE OF GAWD COVERED IN CHOKING HAZARDS AND SO NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER THREE YEARS OF AGE AND/OR STOOPID CHILDREN"?

For practical purposes, however, you could call him Chokey Hazard.

Ha! That should be it's middle name. Button "FOR THE LOVE OF GAWD COVERED IN CHOKING HAZARDS AND SO NOT FOR CHILDREN UNDER THREE YEARS OF AGE AND/OR STOOPID CHILDREN" Bear.
Trust me, this bear will never be pried from my own ancient hands.
